Overview:

My client is a market leader in the specialist social care sector. Based in the North West they operate throughout the UK supporting local authorities with their extra care accommodation needs. They have a proven track record delivering projects to assist with the growing demand on a national basis. Due to the increased workload they are now looking to add a Senior Quantity Surveyor to their commercial team.

Roles & Responsibilities

* Responsible for the delivery of reliable construction project cost analysis from the inception of a project to the completion of the project final account.
* Provide the Concept Design team with high level costing analysis for prospective schemes;
* Produce rent justifications to enable Account Managers to assess the viability of a deal;
* Produce preliminary scope of works with a value in excess of £350K for schemes at concept stage for approval by the project team;
* Manage the tender process and make recommendations for the appointment of contractors to the Construction Director;
* Prepare contract documents for appointed contractors;
* Approve contract documents for works with a value of less than £350K
* Attend prestart meeting to qualify commercial information;
* Assess contractor applications for payment of progress of works on site for Project Manager approval;
* Agree variations to scope of works in excess of £5k in conjunction with the Project Manager;
* Produce and check cost report information for management information;
* Agree and produce final accounts for agreement with the Principal Quantity Surveyor, in a timely manner after completion of the works;
* Maintain the framework of scheduled rates by updating tender information;
* Liaise with project teams to manage and minimise the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality;
* Record keeping using Dynamics;
* Completion of timesheets to allow accurate cost allocation to projects;
* Undertake project administration as required;
* Oversee and be responsible for accurate record keeping in line with policies and procedures;
* Support the Principal Quantity Surveyor with continuous improvement activities within the team;
